What is the Legacy Circle?

The Elmhurst Heritage Foundation (EHF) Legacy Circle is a meaningful way for the Foundation to recognize individuals who provide gifts through a life insurance policy, bequest by will or estate note, trust, appreciated property, or real estate. Such a gift signifies that the donor believes in the EHF mission beyond their lifetime. Only documentation of the intent, not the amount or any other specifics, is required for inclusion in the Legacy Circle. Legacy Circle members will be included in special events, are listed in the Museum/Foundation Annual Report, and will be recognized whenever appropriate opportunities arise. Legacy Circle recognition can also be awarded anonymously if requested. Please contact the Museum Director, Dave Oberg, at 630-833-1457 for more information

Fred and Janet Hodge

Fred and Janet Hodge lived in Elmhurst for 48 years before recently moving to Oak Brook. They continue to support the Elmhurst community as Legacy Circle members. Janet served as an Elmhurst Heritage Foundation Board member for ten years. She was also on the Board of the Elmhurst Symphony, the DuPage Foundation, and other organizations. Fred is a long time volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, serves as a mentor for students at Sandburg and York, and volunteers at the Museum of Science & Industry, among his many other activities.

Janet and Fred are committed to the missions of the Elmhurst History Museum and EHF. “We believe becoming members of the Legacy Circle through a bequest is an important step to ensure that the Museum and its programs will continue to flourish. This is an opportunity to give back to the community that has helped to shape our lives.”
